Life is filled with seasons of ease, harmony, and smooth pathways while other times with difficulties, chaos, and bumps in the road.  Christ is with us every step of the way but sometimes the knots in our lives feel so tight and twisted that we find it difficult to make any headway in undoing the knots.  During these times, turn to Mary, Undoer of Knots to help intercede on your behalf and loosen the knots.

The devotion to Mary Undoer of Knots dates back to the time of St Irenaeus who said, "The knot of Eve's disobedience was untied by the obedience of Mary; what the virgin Eve bound by her unbelief, the Virgin Mary loosened by her faith."

History tells us that German nobleman Wolfgang Langenmantel and his wife, Sophie, were on the brink of divorce. Wolfgang sought out Jesuit priest, Father Jakob Rem, for direction when something miraculous happened.  As they were praying together to the Blessed Virgin Mary, something miraculous happened.  Wolfgang brought The Wedding Ribbon to his meeting with the priest.  The Wedding Ribbon was common ritual at this time and was used at Wolfgang and Sophie's marriage to symbolically tie there arms together as a symbol of their new vows of two becoming one. The Ribbon was filled with knots as they began to pray together next to an image of Our Lady. As they prayed, the priest asked Mary to untie the knots of tension in Wolfgang and Sophie's marriage. The ribbon then loosened, completely untied, and became extremely white. After this miraculous encounter, Wolfgang and Sophie reconciled.

Display this figure of Mary Undoer of Knots to be reminded that she can still do miraculous things in our lives today if we only ask for her to take us by the hand and lead us to her Son.
