Saint Brigid of Ireland was the founder of the first monastery in County Kildare, Ireland. While there is no evidence that the two actually met, Saint Brigid was deeply inspired by Saint Patrick and carried on the legacy of his work in Ireland.

Saint Brigid is known by this cross. My mother-in-law, who grew up in Ireland, remembers making them out of rushes as a little girl. When I see this iconic cross I think of Saint Brigid's sweet hands patiently weaving together the blades of grass, thinking of her God.
